Daily Scripture & Questions
II Corinthians 4-7:1 Paul did not tamper with God's word, but faithfully proclaimed Jesus.  Why doesn't Paul lose heart (4:16)?  Paul describes his body as a tent, and the resurrection body as a building from God.  Being found naked (5:3) is probably the intermediate state when believers are absent from the body but present with the Lord, awaiting the resurrection of their bodies.  Why does this give Paul good courage (5:6)?  The gospel Paul preached is presented in 5:11-21.  What did the death of Jesus accomplish (5:14-15)?  Why doesn't God count the sins of believers against them?  According to 5:21, why was Jesus, who was sinless, made to "be sin"?  Paul doesn't want Christians unequally yoked to folks like the rebellious minority in Corinth (6:14-7:1).  This would apply to other situations where another's conduct and world-view would strongly influence us, as Christians, down a wrong path.  Certainly, this would include marriage.

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read
II Corinthians 4:16-5:10. What is wasting away? What is the tent that will be destroyed? What is the building that we will receive from God? What is the guarantee of receiving the resurrection body? When a believer dies, they are "away from the body and at home with the Lord." They are still awaiting the resurrection when they will receive their new building. Do you know any believers who have died? What do we know about their current situation?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 67:1-5 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us (Selah) that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.  Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!  Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. (Selah) Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!"

Rejoice in God's work among the nations.   Ask the Lord that we (locally) and our missionaries (internationally) would be effective in sharing the Good News with the peoples of the world.
