Daily Scripture & Questions
I Thessalonians 1-3 After preaching three Sabbaths, several people believed (Acts 17:4).  Paul then seems to have spent time ministering to the Gentiles.  Having to leave the city prematurely (see Acts 17:5 ff), Paul sends Timothy back a few months later.  Timothy catches up with Paul in Corinth and gives him an update.  What misunderstanding about the timing of the day of the Lord, the fate of deceased Christians, the extent of persecution, and the need to keep working do you find in this letter (in today's and tomorrow's readings)?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read I Thessalonians 2:1-12. How did the apostle Paul declare the Gospel to the Thessalonians? What did he say his motives were not? What were they? How was he like a mother to them? Like a father?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 75:1  We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near.  We recount your wondrous deeds.

Give praise to God by recounting three great deeds He has done for you in the past several years.  Add to that three small deeds He has done recently as tokens of His love.
