Daily Scripture & Questions
Acts 17:1-18:17   What were the different reactions to the gospel in Thessalonica and in Berea?  Note how Paul's presentation of the gospel in Athens (at the Areopagus/Mars Hill) began.  How did he start from where his listeners were?  Why is the identity of Jesus confirmed by the resurrection the great dividing point in separating people who believe and who don't believe?  In Corinth, to whom did Paul present the gospel first?  How did they respond?  After Paul turned to the Gentiles, how long did he stay in Corinth?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read
Acts 17:22-34. As the apostle spoke with the Gentile philosophers, with what did he begin? How does he contrast the true God with the many false gods? When do the philosophers start to have a hard time accepting Paul's teaching? How does Jesus' resurrection give us the assurance that He is indeed the Judge of the world?

Biblical Prayer Focus
James 5:13-15  Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Seek the Lord for His leading regarding asking the elders to pray for you or if you need someone else's support in conquering a sin in your life.
