Daily Scripture & Questions
Luke 24; John 20-21 Why did Jesus confront the disciples on the road to Damascus for being "slow of heart to believe"?  What did Jesus do to prove that He was risen from the dead and not just a spirit?  From John 20, we see that the disciples were skeptics about the resurrection, but they finally did believe.  How does this fit in with the purpose statement that John gives for his gospel in chapter 20, verse 30?  John 21 records the recommissioning of Peter.  What did Peter do that led to Jesus making him reaffirm his love and commitment for his Savior?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions

Read John 20:19-30. Why was Thomas so skeptical? How did Jesus address him and help him deal with his doubts? Are you among those who are blessed because you believe the witnesses even though you weren't an eyewitness yourself? In verse 30, what was John's goal for writing his eyewitness account of Jesus' life, death and resurrection?

Biblical Prayer Focus

Psalm 102:16-17   For the LORD builds up Zion; he appears in his glory; he regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer.

Humble yourselves before God, remembering that He does not despise the prayer of those who are contrite in heart.  Do not listen to the Evil One who would whisper that you've sunk too low this time to go back to God for mercy and help.
