Daily Scripture & Questions
Matthew 28; Mark 16 If the disciples had actually stolen the body of Jesus and made up the resurrection, how would that explain their change from being cowards to being the courageous ones that they were?  Why would the disciples, if they had stolen the body, be willing to die for a lie?  The Great Commission has one key command, "Make disciples."  There are three participles that describe aspects of this command:  going, baptizing, teaching.  Do your goals for this year include a focus on fulfilling the Great Commission?  As you read Mark 16, remember that verses 9-20 should be read with caution since there is strong doubt over whether this ending was part of Mark's original work.  Most of the content of these verses can be found elsewhere.  No point of doctrine is affected by this section's presence or absence.  Note that verse 18 doesn't encourage picking up serpents or drinking poison!

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Matthew 28:16-20. Would it be right to worship Jesus if He were not God? What was Jesus' command to His followers? The key command is captured in the words, "Make disciples." The other three described some of the process of making disciples: going, baptizing, teaching. Have you decided to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior? Have you been baptized? How are you being taught the teachings of Jesus right now? Is it your heart's desire to be a discipler?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 84:5-7 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion.

Ask the Lord to give you, and those you pray for, a deep joy and great anticipation in coming together with brothers and sisters in corporate worship this weekend.   Ask God to make Sunday the high point of the week.
