Daily Scripture & Questions
Matthew 27; Mark 15 We know that the death of Christ was God's plan, but there is still responsibility among those who killed Him.  Based on these chapters, who should be held responsible?  Remember, it was ultimately our sins that put Jesus on the cross.  Was there any doubt that Jesus was dead?  Was there any doubt that the tomb was sealed and guarded?  Were Jesus' enemies knowledgeable of His claims to be the Son of God?  How do these historical facts support our faith?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions

Read Matthew 27:32-56; Hebrews 10:26-29. Jesus' suffering was terrible, but the worst part was facing the wrath for our sins. If we deliberately go on sinning, making a practice of sin, after understanding this, what are we doing?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 71:12-16   O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me!  May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my hurt.  But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more.  My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.  With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone.

Pray that the Lord would help you recall His righteous acts and His promised presence with you.  Ask Him to help you hope in Him more and more so that you can endure the hard things you are facing.
