Daily Scripture & Questions
II Peter 1-3 Peter reminds us of the great resources that are ours as believers (1:3-4).  Because we have these resources, we should resolve to make every effort to grow by climbing the staircase of qualities listed in 1:5-7.  If we do this, the results will be as described in 1:8-11.  All of this is so important that Peter continues to remind us until we can recall it easily (1:12-15).  This reminding is telling us to get into God's Word (1:16-21) and to be ready to avoid false teachers (see chapter 2).  Peter continues his reminder in chapter three focused on the day of the Lord of which scoffers were saying that it would never come.  The delay of Christ's return is really an expression of what?  God has chosen to delay the return of Christ because He does not wish what to happen?  How should we live in light of end-time realities?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read II Peter 1:3-15. What are the resources that God has given to us? What resolve should we make in light of these resources (5-7)? What will be the results if these qualities are ours (8-11)? Does Peter think that it is important to keep reminding us these things (12-15)? When do you get tired of being reminded of stuff? When don't you find it tiresome to be reminded again and again?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 130:3-6  If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.

Thank the Lord for His amazing forgiveness. Stand in reverent awe before Him and wait for His clear leading.
