Daily Scripture & Question
Habakkuk 1-3 Habakkuk is a contemporary of Jeremiah and Zephaniah.  He sees the Babylonia invasion coming and wonders how God could allow these people, who are even worse than Israel, to punish God's people.  Note the question and answer format - what are Habakkuk's questions (see 1:2, 13)?  What are the woes of the taunt against the Babylonians (2:6-20)?  Where is Habakkuk's walk with God at the end of chapter 3?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Habakkuk 3:12-19. In what circumstances does Habakkuk rejoice in the Lord? He knew God would come through in the end, and even in the hard times, he had learned to do what (see the end of verse 16)?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 13:1-4
"How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken."

The Bible is honest about how hard suffering is. Pray for those you know who are moaning in their spirits, "How long?" Ask our gracious Heavenly Father to give them assurance and hope that He knows what they are going through and will not abandon them, even when it feels like He has.
