Daily Scripture & Questions
Jeremiah 10-13 Idolatry is the main reason God's judgment will come upon Judah (House of Israel).  What is the contrast between idols and the true God (10:10-12)?  Note how Jeremiah's ministry is very hard.  How does Jeremiah pray in 10:23-24?  Note the reference to the plot against him in 11:18-20.  What does Jeremiah struggle with in 12:1 in the context?  How does God challenge him to prepare for even worse struggles (12:5)?

Family Devotions-Scripture & Questions

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 44:23-26
"Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord?  Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever!  Why do you hide your face?  Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?  For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground.  Rise up; come to our help! Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love!"

We know that God doesn't sleep or slumber, but sometimes when we are suffering it feels that way. Bring to the LORD those who have been suffering for a long time and may be getting discouraged. They may feel like their face is getting ground into the dirt. Beseech God to manifest His covenant faithful love to them as He rises up to act on their behalf.
