Daily Scripture & Questions
Acts 13-14 These chapters are the account of Saul/Paul's first missionary journey.  Now that Paul is working among the Gentiles, it makes sense that he would use his Gentile name (Paul) rather than the name that would have fit the Jewish culture (Saul).  How is Paul's message at Antioch in Pisidia (which is a different Antioch than the one referred to in chapter 13:1) a model for presenting the Gospel?  Jesus frees us (justifies us), which is something that the law of Moses could never do (13:39).  Why do you think that some of the Jews thrust aside the Word of God (13:46)?  How are Paul's experiences an illustration of chapter 14, verse 22?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Acts 14:8-20. How is the miracle of healing an illustration of Acts 14:3? Were the people excited by the miracle? Did most of them believe or were they just fickle? What was the good news that Paul brought (see verses 15-17)?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Habakkuk 3:17-19c Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. GOD, the Lord, is my strength;  he makes my feet like the deer's;  he makes me tread on my high places.

Even if things are not working out as you had hoped for, choose to rejoice in the Lord and ask Him to give you steadfast footing during this challenging time.
