Daily Scripture & Questions
Acts 1-3 Luke's second book, Acts, records the early history of the church.  Why did the disciples need to wait for the power of the Holy Spirit? What would He help them to do?  How does Peter's first sermon reflect both the sovereign plan of God and the human responsibility of those who crucified Jesus?  In Peter's second sermon, after the healing of the lame beggar, what were the titles that he attributed to Jesus?  How did Peter call for a response at the close of the two speeches?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions

Read Acts 2:22-41.  After the gift of unstudied languages (tongues) had gathered the people's attention because they heard things spoken in their own language, Peter addresses them. In this part of his sermon, what does Peter tell us about who Jesus is and the Holy Spirit? Have you been "cut to the heart" (verse 37) by the news of Jesus? If so, what should you do in response?

Biblical Prayer Focus

Psalm 107:6-8 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.  He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in.  Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love,  for his wondrous works to the children of man!

Thank the Lord for the help He has provided you or loved ones in recent days. Exalt Him for His deliverance.
