Daily Scripture & Questions
JudeI John 1-2 Jude is a half-brother of Jesus but identifies himself as Christ's servant.  He strongly warns Christians to be aware of false teachers who "crept in unnoticed" (verse 4).  What are qualities that identify these false teachers?  Jude 20 begins a section of encouragement concluded by a wonderful benediction.  Are there individuals who come to mind as you read the instructions of verses 22 and 23?  I John begins in 1:1-2:6 with a teaching on Christ's divinity, His coming, His coming in the flesh, His saving death on our behalf, and His prayer ministry on our behalf.  I John 1:7-10 tells us how to be cleansed from our sin.  Note that even as Christians, we still have sin, even John still has sin as verse 8 uses the pronoun we.  All of us must be confessed up if we are to have fellowship with God and one another (see verse 3).  What must we not love (2:15-17)?  Although there is a final Antichrist in history, there are many forerunner antichrists.  What describes these evil people?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Jude 17-25. Who is able to keep us from stumbling? What are the things that we should be doing so that we don't stumble and help others not to stumble either? How can we show mercy but be afraid of the deceitfulness of sin—that is, hating the sin but seeking to restore the sinner?

Biblical Prayer Focus
John 17:15-17
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.  They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.  Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

Join Jesus in praying that we might be made holy by the truth, the Word of God. Ask the Lord to give you a deep hunger for His Word, the Bible.
