Daily Scripture & Questions
Hebrews 1:1-4:13 The supremacy of Jesus is stated in 1:1-4.  Following this, the biblical case is made that Jesus is greater than angels because He is the Son of God (1:5-14) and because He took on true humanity as the Son of Man (2:5-18).  What are the warnings given in light of the supremacy of Jesus in Hebrews 2:1-4?  How is Jesus able to help us (2:14-18)?  Jesus is also greater than Moses and the law.  In 3:7-4:13, there is a warning that we must not be like Moses' followers who failed to enter God's promised rest.  We are followers of the Son of God, and we must not repeat their mistake.  It seems that the promised rest is talking about God's future (end times) rest, but we can now enter into it as a foretaste of what is to come.

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions

Read Hebrews 3:12-13; 4:11-13. What hardens a person's heart into an evil unbelieving heart? What should we do to prevent that from happening? How does the Word of God help us to not fall by the same sort of disobedience as the people in Moses' day (see 3:15-4:10)?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Jeremiah 15:15 O LORD, you know; remember me and visit me, and take vengeance for me on my persecutors.  In your forbearance take me not away; know that for your sake I bear reproach.

Leave room for the vengeance of God, giving Him those people who are making life hard for you.  Especially for those who reproach you because you are a follower of Jesus.
