Daily Scripture & Questions
Ezekiel 28-31 The prophecies and laments over the fall of a number of nations fill our reading today.  Learn how the fall of Tyre is likened to the fall of Satan (28:11-19).  What was Egypt's failure (29:6-7)?  Have you been a "staff of reed" to anyone?  What is the refrain repeated again and again by Ezekiel throughout this section?  What is the theme of the prophecies against these powerful nations?  How is it a warning to us?

Family Devotions-Scripture & Questions
Read Ezekiel 28:11-19. Can you find where Tyre was on a map? The fall of Tyre's king is compared to who else's fall? Why did the king of Tyre and the fallen angel (Satan) receive God's judgment (v. 17)? Do you think that our world puts too much emphasis on beauty? How does that impact you?

Biblical Prayer Focus

I Peter 5:6-7 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."

Bow your heart and perhaps your knees before the Lord, expressing your humility before Him. Ask Him to show you if there is anything you are doing to exalt yourself.  If so, repent of it. Seek Him so that He can show you where you are carrying anxieties right now (it is easy to pretend that we aren't).  Then cast them upon His broad shoulders. Pray the same for your protectorate.
