Daily Scripture & Questions
Ezekiel 18-19 What is the accusation against God in chapter 18?  Are the ways of the Lord not just or are the ways of the people not just?  Does God find pleasure in the death of anyone (18:23)?  What should be our response (18:32)?  Chapter 19 is a lament for the leaders of Israel—it is difficult to be certain of all of the details but the despair of chapter 19:14 is that there is no scepter for ruling.  If the Davidic dynasty ends, then all of the promises of God to David will be null and void.  What would this prospect do to the hope of the people?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions

Read Ezekiel 18:21-32. God is gracious. If someone turns away from their sin, what will God do? Does God want a wicked person to die or repent? Are God's ways always right? If so, what should we do (18:31-32)? Have you done that?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Luke 18:13-14
"But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Humble yourself before the LORD and confess any sins of which the Spirit has convicted you. Ask God to remove any vestiges of self-righteousness from your life.
