Daily Scripture & Questions
Jeremiah 51-52 Babylon's destruction by the Medes would be awful and complete . . . they would not have the final word as they supposed they would.  Yet, in the meantime, God uses Babylon to punish Israel (chapter 52).  The temple is destroyed, and the people are exiled.  Is there any hope for the promised line of David to sprout up again – that is for the Messiah to even come as He has promised that He would (see 52:31-34)?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Jeremiah 50:23 and 51:20-23. What nation did God first use as a hammer of judgment? What nation did God use to hammer the hammer to pieces (see 51:11)? How are we to think about the great super powers of the nations – are they only tools in God's hands? Who should we really respect and honor?
