Daily Scripture & Questions
Jeremiah 46-48 Our reading today begins an extended section of Jeremiah's prophesies about the judgment on the surrounding nations.  God will judge Egypt, the Philistines, and Moab.  Note in chapter 46:10 what the judgment on Egypt is called.  What is God's word of hope to His people (46:25-28)?  Why was God's judgment coming upon Moab (48:7, 26, 29, 42)?  What does God do as the judgment comes upon Moab (48:36)?  Is there still a future and a hope for Moab (48:47)?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Jeremiah 48:4-7, 26-31, 35-36. Why does God judge the country of Moab?  How does God feel about having to judge Moab (31-36)?  Do you think parents feel the same way when they must seriously discipline their children?

Biblical Prayer Focus
2 Chronicles 20:12 "O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you."

Pray for those who feel overwhelmed and vastly outnumbered. In the circumstances of your life that you keep trying to come up with an answer to . . . stop for a moment and just look to the Lord. Ask the Spirit to quiet your heart and to fill you with trust.
