Daily Scripture & Questions
Jeremiah 41-45 With the background of the murder of the Babylonian appointed governor, Gedaliah, the people need to make a decision.  Certainly, they feared retaliation from Babylon.  So, they asked Jeremiah for God's will.  What did Jeremiah say?  How did the people respond?  How does chapter 44:15-19 and 20-23 give us two prospects of what caused the suffering in the people's lives?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Jeremiah 42:1-17 and 43:1-2. Who asked for Jeremiah's prayers and for God's leading? What did Jeremiah say God told him? Did the people listen? Do we ever say, "Tell us the truth. . . but only if it is what we want to hear"?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Jude 24-25
"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."

Give expressions of praise to God and His Son, Jesus. Entrust yourself, and those you are praying for, into His strong hands, asking that He would hold on to you and keep you from stumbling even when you don't have the strength to hold on to Him. Give Him praise that He is the One, Who began a good work in us and will bring it to completion.
