Daily Scripture & Questions
I Kings 7; II Chronicles 4-5 What doesn't the chronicler talk about that is part of our I Kings reading (7:1-12)?  Remember, the chronicler is selecting historical facts that will help the Israelites who are coming back after 70 years in exile.  His hope seems to be to help these people understand how to find God's favor once they get back to their homeland.  Why would the missing section not be as important to these returning exiles?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read II Chronicles 5:1-14. Can you imagine this great worship gathering? How do we know God was pleased with it? Do you sense the presence of God in our church's worship services?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Luke 22:40-42
"And when he came to the place, he said to them, 'Pray that you may not enter into temptation.' And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, 'Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.'”

Ask the Lord's help to not enter into temptation. Seek Him for the Spirit's empowerment to become faithful in prayer and to be willing to do His will, even when it is so very hard.
