Daily Scripture & Questions
I Kings 5-6; II Chronicles 2-3 As Solomon builds the temple, what are the evidences that the process of the building itself was to be honorable to God as well as the finished product of the temple?  Results are important . . . but how we achieve them matters as well.

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read II Chronicles 2:1-10. Why can no building ever really be God's house? If God did not live there, what was the temple's purpose? What happened in the temple when Jesus died (see Matthew 27:51)?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 119:66-71
"Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.  Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I keep your word. You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.  The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts; their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law. It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes."

Thank the Lord for using affliction as a teaching tool in your life. Even though the afflictions that God allowed were hard, express your confidence that God is good and does good . . . all the time!
