Daily Scripture & Questions
Proverbs 22-24 Remember, in terms of our chronological readings throughout the year, we are currently in Proverbs since many of them were written and collect by Solomon.  As you look at today's passage, look at 22:17-24:22 and note that this section divides into 30 discrete teachings.  Which of these are the top two that impact you as to where you are right now in your life?  As you read 23:29-35, reflect on whether you know people who have many sorrows right now because of alcohol and drugs in their life. Pray that the Lord would help them to see their folly and to seek His help in conquering this besetting sin.

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Proverbs 22:6, 15; 23:13-14; 24:30-34. How does the section in Proverbs 24 repeat yesterday's key idea? What is the lesson in the sections of chapters 22 and 23? How do you respond when you are disciplined?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Luke 21:34-36
"But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man."

Pray for the Lord's help in keeping watch, remembering the soon return of the Lord Jesus. Ask that He help you not to let your heart be weighed down with distractions. Seek His forgiveness if you have let the cares of life or your attempts to "escape" the pain choke out your faith.
