Daily Scripture & Questions
1 Samuel 1-3 (See 3:13) What were the blasphemous actions of Eli's sons?  Eli did confront them as recorded in 2:22-25, but what did he not do?  If you are a parent, are you doing all that you can to restrain your children from evil?  How so?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read I Samuel 1:21-28. Samuel was given over to the Lord as a little boy. Do you know that you ultimately belong to God, too? How does that make you feel? Ask your parents to tell you how they dedicated you to the Lord, whether they did so privately or in a service with other believers.

Biblical Prayer Focus
Ephesians 6:13-18a
"Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication."

Pray through the pieces of armor as you clothe yourself for battle in the dressing room of prayer. Ask for help to be able to stand firm in the evil day.
