Immeasurable Grace

Thursday, November 19, 2020
In a time when health concerns limit our family gatherings, it would be easy to become negative and grumpy.  I have been renewed in my gratitude by two passages from Ephesians.

“so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:7 ESV

“To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,” Ephesians 3:8 ESV

Even in the coming ages there will be still more demonstrations of God’s grace. They surpass any effort we could possibly make to count them.  We may “count our blessings one by one,” but all of eternity is still not long enough to get to the end of them.   The riches of God’s grace are ours because of the riches of Christ given to us... even us Gentiles (outsiders)! We cannot fully explore them and trace them out.

May the Spirit help us renew our minds with these truths.  May He help us displace grumpiness with gratefulness!  Happy Thanksgiving, brothers and sisters!
