The Elders' mission is to encourage the sheep entrusted to us by the Great Shepherd to grow towards greater health because we oversee that they are well led, shepherded, and fed.
We believe that people (sheep) may become confused and deceived, ending up lost and open to attack from Satan and even each other and thus they NEED to become "healthy" and united in the truth and in purposeful ministry. Without definitive, decisive, direction-giving leadership, that avoids being dogmatic or defensive, such healthy growth is unsustainable.
Therefore the Elders, who are affirmed by the congregation's membership, select from among themselves Oversight Elders. These Oversight Elders take the responsibility to lead the overall ministry of Trinity Fellowship. The other Elders work hard at the shepherding (pastoral) ministry, while helping the Oversight Elders stay in touch with what's really happening in people's lives. An Elder may also take the lead in a specific ministry, such as chairing the Missions Board.
