Daily Scripture & Questions
Romans 4-5 Paul uses Abraham as a case study to show that it has always been true that people are justified (declared righteous before God) by faith and not works.  Looking back to Genesis 15:6, we see Abraham was declared right before God because he believed God (had faith in Him).  Chapter five then gives us the results of having been justified by faith—peace with God!  What are the three things in which such peace allows us to rejoice (see 5:2, 3, 11)?  How is death in Adam contrasted with life in Christ in Romans 5:20-21?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read
Romans 5:1-11. Why can a believer in Jesus rejoice even in suffering? How do believers know that God still loves us and is for us even when hard times come? When was the last time that you doubted that God loved you? How can this passage help you?

Biblical Prayer Focus
Luke 11:9-10
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Pray that the Lord will help you, and those you are praying for, to be honest with your heart's desires.  Earnestly ask, seek, and knock . . . all the while allowing God to be the ultimate Decider on what is best.
