Every year a part of the VBS is both learning about and giving
to a mission’s project. Dan and Ruth Kennison were our
missionaries this year. Ruth is originally from Chile and Dan is
a past member of Trinity. We have supported them in their
ministry to the Migrant workers in the past. God has called them
to plant a church in Chile and they are working to raise long
term support but have already begun the process of church
planting.
Dan and Ruth spent the week of VBS with us, building
relationships with our children and telling them about Chile.
The children raised money to support Dan and Ruth’s ministry and
made blankets to be distributed to the children there. |

The
blankets were imprinted with “Jesus Loves You” both in Spanish
and English. Each VBS “crew” worked together to tie a blanket
and put a white felt heart inside after praying for the child
that would receive the blanket. Along with the blankets the
children will receive a booklet, written in Spanish, that tells
about Jesus.
The Kennisons will distribute these blankets and booklets later
this year. However, shortly after VBS ended, God opened the door
for Dan to take a short trip to the area. While there, with
Fiesta fresh on his mind, he helped provide a “Mini-Fiesta” for
the children. He brought three blankets with him and distributed
these to the children in the picture. |
